She is a natural resource governance specialist, with twenty years of experience in protected area management, community conservation and rural development. She currently works for The Nature Conservancy, Africa program. She is the Africa Integrated Landscapes Strategy Director for Africa. This is a program that helps communities secure rights to land and natural resources, help improve biodiversity conservation and secure sustainable financing options. Her work also supports a network (Africa Conservation Leadership Network) of leaders from conservation organizations in East and Southern Africa. This network trains executive directors in systems leadership. Patricia obtained a doctorate degree from the University of Florida, School of Natural Resources and Environment in 2012. Her research examined factors that lead to improved local democratic governance in community conservation programs in Botswana and Zambia. She has worked for TNC the last seven years.
